Great Delta Bear Affair announces theme for 2023 Festival
The 2023 Great Delta Bear Affair will take place in downtown Rolling Fork on October 28. Although still reeling from the March 24 F4 tornado that destroyed much of the city, the Bear Affair committee is committed to putting on a festival for the community. Despite a F4 tornado practically destroying the city of Rolling Fork on March 24, the Great Delta Bear Affair committee has decided they are going to go forward with planning the festival for October 28. The Chuckburger Eating Contest will celebrate its fourth year at the Great Delta Bear Affair on October 22. This signature sandwich from local eatery Chuck’s Dairy Bar is a hamburger dressed with chili, slaw and pickles. The contest is sponsored by Chuck’s Dairy Bar and will take place on the Main Stage at 11:30 a.m. The contest draws an enormous crowd to witness who can eat the most burgers in only 5 minutes! Archaeologist Sam Brookes is no stranger to Rolling Fork and the South Delta.
